about
maya

I help people stay sane in an insane world—not by escaping the chaos, but by meeting it with awareness, courage, and humanity.

my work lives at the intersection of mindfulness, leadership, and self-inquiry.

I blend deep insights from meditation and traditional wisdom with practical, down-to-earth tools for self-awareness, resilience, and authentic leadership. I support individuals and teams to build inner steadiness amid complexity, so they can live and lead with presence, courage, and clarity.

I’ve walked this path myself—through war, displacement, monastic life, and the uncertainty of reinvention. These experiences have shaped my purpose: to help others navigate uncertainty, embrace transformation, and thrive in an ever-changing, increasingly fragile world.

Today, I offer transformational coaching, leadership development, keynote talks, and retreats. I hold space for people to reconnect with their inner wisdom and learn to meet life with greater awareness and resilience.

This isn’t just my profession - it’s my lived path.

my story

My story begins in former Yugoslavia in the late 1980s, a time of political collapse, rising nationalism, and war. As my world unravelled, I knew I had to leave. In 1992, with a 30-day visa and a backpack, I fled my homeland and never returned.

It was a watershed moment, the end of one life and the beginning of another. That crossing sparked a lifelong journey of healing and awakening. It led me inward, into deep questions of uncertainty, identity, and what it means to live a meaningful life.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by the mind - how we get stuck, how we suffer, and how we grow.

After years of personal struggle, I felt a powerful pull to go deeper. I immersed myself in Buddhist psychology and meditation, and eventually ordained as a Buddhist nun. I lived a life of renunciation, study, service and intensive practice. It was a time of profound shedding - grief, identity, illusions - and slowly discovering a deeper self beneath it all.

I shaved my head, released my past, and devoted myself to the inner work of liberation. I was given the name Lachog - Supreme Joy - a name that became both a path and a promise.

why I do this work?

after years in monastic life, I felt called to return - not to leave the teachings behind, but to bring them into the heart of everyday life.

I saw that people didn’t need to escape their lives - they needed practical tools to meet them more consciously. I realised that what many of us lack isn’t drive or intelligence, but awareness. And that self-awareness, when cultivated with kindness and curiosity, has the power to transform everything.

Since then, I’ve dedicated my work to helping people access that awareness - at work, at home, and in leadership. I specialise in translating deep wisdom into everyday language, and in creating safe, spacious environments for reflection and growth.

Through navigating my own seasons of burnout, uncertainty, and reinvention, I’ve learned something essential: we don’t need to become someone else to thrive. We need to remember who we already are.

To surrender into full acceptance.
To awaken from within.
To navigate life’s challenges with grace.
And to embody our full, authentic selves.

we can live, love, and lead from a deeper, wiser place, even in the midst of great uncertainty.

Whether I’m guiding a CEO, facilitating a retreat in nature, coaching fellow humans, or speaking at a conference, my work is always about the same thing: creating the space to pause, reflect, awaken, and realign with what truly matters.

this isn’t just professional for me, it’s personal. it’s a practice. it’s a path. and i’d be honoured to walk alongside you, too.
